For the better part of 30 years, I have been involved, directly or indirectly, with smoking and fighting on a fetish level. It did not start out as a fetish, but as an adult, along with the people I chose to associate with, it slowly evolved into it. Like so many other kids of the 1970’s and 80’s, smoking was not taboo as it is today. In fact, in high school, I was a card carrying member of the “Smoker’s Club,” hanging out before and after school and during breaks in the designated smoking section. Many of us smoking girls had to carry the weight of being a tough chick as well. A girl in the smoking club had to know how to fight and had the reputation of not to be messed with.
Fumar, Fights & Fetishes is a collection of stories of my adult life and the transformation of smoking and fighting into the full-blown world of sexual fetishism. For five years, I was an amateur web model and it is easy to imagine what I specialized in.
Fumar, Fights & Fetishes highlights some of my more interesting experiences. I retell the story of my first videotaped catfight in which I was double teamed; a photo shoot in a swingers club that was an eye opener; smoking in the ladies room taken to a new level and one on one with an where more than just a reputation is on the line. Fumar, Fights & Fetishes is a random collection of stories for lovers of women with attitudes who are not afraid to get down and dirty.

This collection of memoirs offered a peek back in time to an era when the fetish world was in a state of transition between magazine ads and bootlegged video tapes and the digital world of have-it-all-for-free-with-just-a-click that we now live in. Edon details her journey into a subset of this fetish world: catfighting. Included among the vivid descriptions of some of her earlier fights are depictions of smoking-fetish related experiences, her first experiences with cam modeling, and one turning-point of a night at a sex club. I enjoyed this book for its composition of various sexual fetishes. An added bonus for me was the nostalgia of the 70's time period. Liz Edon defines fetishes and subgroups in a in distinct manner. Classifying behaviors is a difficult task; she's done an amazingly good job at clustering certain preferences and behaviors together so people can understand the motivations, practices and implications of related things.
Liz shares some personal stories from her time as a fetish model. Some of her fights a bit of sex and a lot of cigarettes.
